Hockey star Boogaard just found dead in apartment!!

Alright everyone, not a lot of details yet...but a HUGE shocker on this Friday night!!  Derek Boogaard was just found dead in his apartment in Minneapolis.  They haven't told us what happened yet, all the public knows is of Boogaards passing.  He spent most of his short career playing with the Minnesota Wild from 2005-2010 and then played for the New York Rangers from 2010 until 2011.

"Derek was an extremely kind and caring individual," Rangers president and general manager Glen Sather said. "He was a very thoughtful person, who will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and teammates during this difficult time."

This is truly very very sad news!

RIP Derek

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends!

Details to come soon!

Nadal's AMAZING between the legs winner!

Check out this video of Rafa's between the legs shot during the finals at the Madrid Open on Sunday.  He ended up losing in 2 sets to Novak Djokovic!

Check out my article on the match, and Novak's 34 win match streak here: Novak pushes win streak to 34

Djokovic Continues his 34 match win streak

Hey Everyone!

So I'm just going to write a quick post about Novak Djokovic and his 34 win match streak. It is going to be something worth watching in 2011 to see if he can beat John McEnroe's 42-0 match streak!

Novak recently beat Rafael Nadal in Madrid to win the Madrid Open. This was the first time Djokovic beat Nadal on clay in 10 attempts. Nadal, the number 1 player in the world said: ''I came up against a great player obviously - he's having a monster year; He was better, you have to accept that.'' Djokovic also beat Nadal in the finals at Indian Wells and Miami.

It's an understatement to say Djokovic is the 2nd best player in the world right now when clearly he is number 1. Not only did he beat Nadal on clay, but this was Nadal's first loss on a clay court in 2 years! Just goes to show how dominate he is on the clay court. So honestly, it's only a matter of time until Novak becomes number 1 in the world, even Rafa admitted that. ''The No. 1 ranking is not in danger - it's finished. Let's not lie to ourselves, that's the reality,'' Nadal said. ''Nobody likes to lose. I have to see what's missing and working with a cool, open mind to decipher things and find the solutions. To try to do a little better next time.''

I really think this is one of the more exciting tennis years so far. With all of the changes in the world rankings, and the new rivalry between rafa and Djokovic. We can't forget about Roger Federer either. It has become an international game, with no American, Male or female, in the top 10 in the world rankings...thats a first. The rest of the tennis season should be a good one to watch!

"Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be Lakers fans"

With the Mavs currently holding a 2-0 series lead over the Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks marketing team haven't stopped doing what they do.  They currently released this song, with Dirk leading the way.  It's a great song if you are a Mavs fan, and if you are a Lakers fan...well then I can only imagine this must add to the frustration.  LA needs to get it together, and get over their "Trust issues" and move on as a team if they want any chance in getting back in the series.  Kobe is good enough to change the game in a second, he just needs some help.  I'm mostly talking about Gasol here, he looks like he is ready for the season to be over.  Without Gasol playing at a high level, the Mavs will close out the defending champs!

What do you guys think of the video/song?

Hines Ward Held at Gunpoint

Ward, currently a contestant on hit ABC show "Dancing with the Stars," was riding in a Honda Civic driven by an unidentified woman who owns the car, Los Angeles police Sergeant Maria Morrison said.
Hines Ward, the Pittsburgh Steelers MVP wide receiver was held at gunpoint by Los Angeles police on Thursday.  Ward was riding in a Honda Civic with an unidentified woman, when the police pulled them over.
The woman whom he was riding with, had reported her Civic stolen when a restaurant valet could not find it.  After a little searching they were able to find the car, but then once they found it, she forgot to cancel the police report.

"Early on Thursday morning, officers in a patrol car pulled over the Honda Civic, and they held Ward and the woman at gunpoint and handcuffed them while they sorted out the situation," Morrison said.

Once officers determined the car was not stolen, the police released Hines Ward and the woman.
I checked out Hines Ward Facebook page to see if he made any comments and here is what he said:
"I want everyone to know that this was a complete misunderstanding," The police were just doing their job. Apologies were made and it's now in the past."

It's nice to see that Hines is a forgive and forget kind of guy.  It's also nice to see the LA police doing their job.

Andy Murray, Schiavone Supports Pre Match Sex (Hilarious)

Alright guys, check this out!

Within the past 12 hours two tennis players were asked a variety of questions, including their thoughs about sex before tennis matches.  It's a big question in the sports world, that has 2 distinct answers.  Some athletes (fighters, some football players, rugby, etc) say that sex before a match/fight/game etc is a no no because it lowers testosterone levels.  Then there are those who endorse sex before a big event.

The recent French Open champion Francesca Shiavone was quoted saying ‘For a woman, sex before a match is not only allowed, it is fantastic. It raises your hormone levels and brings advantages to all of your points. ‘In recent years I have grown, and my feminine side is a lot more visible. But it is a gift reserved for just a few.”  (Just to clear things up, she was voted on being one of the more...how should I say it...manlier tennis players)
And then we have Andy Murray.  When he was asked this question he was much more modest in saying that tennis players can't afford to give up sex.  They play so often that if they turned it down, the would never have sex.  Whatever helps him sleep at night I guess.

Anyways, what is everyone's thought on the matter?

Is Washington in trouble?

Hey everyone!

What a weekend huh?  It started out with one of the biggest events of the century, The Royal Wedding.  This crazy weekend came to a close with one of the biggest news stories/events since 9/11 with the death of Osama Bin Laden.

For the past few days my posts have gone away from sports, and with big events like that I just had to at least give my viewpoint on those topics!  I also have started a campaign to volunteer in Lesotho Africa.  I have had some following on what I want to do, but am far from the number of people who need to know about this for it to actually happen.  So if you have time please check out all of the details here: Help me get to Lesotho Africa and pass the word along!

Ok on to the Washington Capitals!!

Round two of the 2011 NHL playoffs are now underway!  After the Capitals beat the NY Rangers in the first round, they now are going up against the Tampa Bay Lightning.  The first two games were played in Washington D.C and the Lightning came ready to play.  The Caps lost their first 2 home games, the way I look at it.....not good!

Washington is a superior team to the Lightning and they proved that during the regular season, beating them fairly easily all 4 times they played eachother.  The playoffs are a different breed though.  It's where the "Crazy" things happen.  The underdogs get this confidence from somewhere, and can compete with the top dogs.  A great example of this is during march madness.  You get the 12 and 13 seeds taking out the "better" teams.  A Wisconsin team might beat George Mason 8 times out of 10, but it just takes that one almost fluke game to end your playoff campaign.

It's time for Washington to rally behind Alex Ovechkin.  The Caps are known for "Choking" during the playoffs.  They need to let the past go, and look towards the future.  They will never play for a Stanley Cup if they can't get that monkey off of their shoulders.

ONE major thing that will help Washington win.....well lets get the powerplay going!  Going 0 for 6 on the powerplay is ridiculous, especially when you not only have the best player in the NHL on your team, but one of the top powerplay units in the LEAGUE.  All it takes is for one goal on the powerplay to open the flood gates.  The next two games are now in Tampa.  They will have to get the powerplay going if they want any chance to bring the series back to the Capital.  Vincent Lecavalier for the Lightning is in my opinion a has been, and is having one of those "Magical" series.  Lets put him on the ice, and be done with him.

Confidence and powerplay success is what the Washington Capitals need.  They lost the first 2 home games, but in a playoffs where home ice advantage hasnt meant much, I'm not too worried about that.  I will be worried though if the Caps lose game 3.  Lets hope for an early powerplay goal from the stallion Eight the Gr8 to get the team going.  With a little more confidence, the Capitals have the talent to win it all!

U.S Kills Osama Bin Laden

The U.S has killed Bin Laden.  Ten years after 9/11 he is finally gone.  It is a huge boost for the United States and its allies.  Lets hope this can finally start to end all of the turmoil around the world; lets also hope this doesn't cause more violence!

The few details we have is he was killed in a compound deep in Pakistan, some reports are saying outside of the capital of Pakistan.  Apparently a United States Asset was the one who killed him. So a small team of special forces.  Obama knew about this for a few months, and it took this long to determine whether that initial lead was correct.  Obama last week gave the go ahead to send this small specialized team into Pakistan.  We did coordinate this effort with the Government of Pakistan.  Props to that special forces team who did this for America and its Allies!

This is for all of those who lost loved ones on 9/11!

Christian Ponder to the Vikings

Who else was surprised that Christian Ponder was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft?

I hope everyone was!

Leave it to the Minnesota Vikings to show that they have no idea what they are doing when it comes to QBs.  If  you are a viking fan...sadly I am...but you can't be feeling too confident right now.  I mean our starting quarterback is either going to be Tavaris Jackson, Joe Webb, or Christian Ponder.

Hmmm.....

T-Jack can't complete a pass outside of 10 yards if his life depended on it. (To the Vikes WR that is)
Joe Webb....uhhhhh he might complete a pass or two.
Christian Ponder....we have yet to see.

The upside to Ponder is that he is very "football smart."  He completes just under 70% of his passes, and only threw for 1 interception in the redzone as a Senior at Florida State.

His arm isn't very strong though, and has a hard time fitting the ball into tight passing lanes.  This is all magnified at the NFL level.  An NFL QB needs to be able to throw harder and more accurate.  With Ponder lacking in the arm department already at the college level, I'm concerned that he will be well below average at the NFL level.  I hope though, that once football resumes that Christian will be able to work hard, and get his arm and game where it needs to be.  He has his positives thats for sure, so all I'm hoping for right now is a solid starting QB to start the season; I don't care who it is.

Thanks for reading my short post on what I think about the Vikes and their quarterback sitiuation!

Please check out my previous post on helping me get to Africa!  It is something I am really hoping to be able to do, and I need all of the support I can get!!

Get Me to Africa (Lesotho)

Hey Everyone!

PLEASE HELP ME GET TO AFRICA!!!

So this is going to be a rather serious post. I have tried this once before, and although it didn't work, it did have an impact. I'm a supporter of various charities around the world, and take a direct interest in making a difference. During my summers I spend my time at camps, trying to make an impact on the lives of others, but now I want to take my biggest step yet, and help those in Africa.

I'm 21 years old, and to be quite honest I'm not 100% sure of what I want to do with my life. I think they call that being lost haha...so why not help those in need.

There are way too many people in the world who are in need. HIV is so prevalent in Africa, and frankly people in America don't really care. Millions of people are starving, facing life threatening illnesses; don't even have a bed to sleep on. It is really really sad.

So let’s get me to Lesotho! Lesotho is one of the 49 least developed countries in the world, as well as having one of the highest HIV ratios in the world! This is why I want to go there. If I’m going to make a difference...let’s make it count!

The reason I need to get the word out, is because there are very few volunteering programs in Lesotho. I can't just go and sign up with a world volunteering program.

SO Let’s get the word out! Please pass this along, and help me get the word out. If the only way I can embark on this journey is for CNN to find out about it, well then let’s let CNN know about it! :)

All I am asking is that we let as many people know about the journey as possible. I need your help!

Thanks for your help!!

THE ROYAL WEDDING

Hey Everyone!!

It is currently 2:00 AM where I live, and I am up blogging.  Why you may ask, well we have exactly 3 hours until the ROYAL WEDDING!  This is a huge deal around the world.  It's expected that 2 billion...thats with a "B" ...people will be watching the big event.

This just in...Prince William and Kate Middleton will be referred to as The Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge once they exchange their vows.

Anyways.....

There has been a lot of talk, especially here in America whether or not this is a big deal.  A lot of people say that they don't really care.  CBS claims that only 6% of Americans have been following the Royal Wedding closely, while 22% have been following the details somewhat closely.  So as for the people who say they don't really care....well I say they are lying.  Everyone is fascinated with a Monarchy...it's history!  Plus who doesn't like a good love story?  Maybe a lot of people aren't staying up to watch the big event, but I can gurantee they will be looking for all of the highlights tomorrow on TV and the internet.

So how are guys feeling about the big event? Don't care? Excited? Let me know!

Kate's dress is a big deal, and as to who the designer was!

Wow! She is causing an avalanche!! (So Hot series)

Sports Illustrated.com
<------- LINDSAY VONN

Hey everyone! So this post is coming a little later in the day due to my crazy schedule!  Finals week is approaching so school is crazy, but no worries as of now blogging is my number 1 priority....dont tell my parents that! :)

Anyways....lets talk a little bit about Lindsay Vonn.  I have to admit I may have been a little bias in my selection here seeing as she grew up about 10 minutes from me...but thats besides the point!  Lindsay is an amazing athlete to say the least.

Case and point on her amazingness ------>

In 1999 she was the first American to win Italy's Trofeo Tropolino.
After that win, she quickly became one of America's top skiers by the age of 16.  It was at this age where she made her world cup debut.

To this day, she has 5 medals at the world championships, and 2 medals in the Olympics. (Both coming in 2010)  In 11 seasons in the World Cup she has 41 wins, 80 podium appearances, and 3 overall season titles.  In addition to all of that, in 2010 she won 2 seperate sportswoman of the year awards.

She was married in 2007 to Thomas Vonn....annnd enough about that.

When she isnt skiing she loves watching Law and Order, and if you remember she made a guest appearance on the show. (May 24th, 2010)  Lindsay also enjoys biking, tennis, and reading.

Check out this cool video about Lindsay Vonn!!

Give me some feeback guys! And if you like this don't forget to subscribe and Digg...etc :)))

This Tennis Player is SO Hot!!

Hey Everyone, so as you can gather by the title...we are talking a little tennis in this post!!

I have a question for you....why are tennis players so attractive?  I mean, have you ever noticed it when you are watching Wimbledon or the US Open (frankly no one cares about tennis outside the majors) they all look good! So I am dedicating this post to the beautiful Caroline Wozniacki.
Techpatio.com
Why Caroline is Hot:  This is an easy answer...at 20 years old she is the #1 ranked tennis player. AT 20 YEARS OLD! What were you doing when you were 20? She has held this spot for 27 weeks, which is very impressive. She has won a total of 15 WTA titles, including almost a record setting 6 titles in 2010. She has yet to win a grand slam event, but I feel like her time will come very soon. She has all of the talent in the world, and if you knock on the door enough, it will eventually open. Caroline I look for you to win a grand slam event in 2011! :)

Personal Stuff:  Supports Liverpool Football (Soccer)...enjoys playing a variety of other sports including handball and soccer (football)...her mother played on the Polish national volleyball team while her father played professional football. Check out what else she had to say in Teen Vogue's interview here: 20 Questions with Tennis Phenom Caroline Wozniacki

(Caroline maybe I could ask you 20 questions sometime?) Just let me know :)

So there you guys have it! The very first edition to my "So Hot" series!!

Stay tuned for the next installment. Feel free to let me know who you want to be in the Next "So Hot" blog!

Tim

PS-

So Hot Series

Alright, so I am starting a new mini series of blogs!!!

The plan is once or twice a week, I will pick a "hot" athlete and talk a little bit about him/her.

Some weeks it may be a well known athlete while sometimes she/he is a relative unknown. I think this is something different, and hopefully spark some conversations/viewer interest in my blog!

STAY TUNED!!

PS- The definition of "Hot" will vary from week to week!

Update on the 2011 NHL playoffs

Alright guys, so it was a big night tonight in the NHL. I'm staying up late to give a quick update on how the night went. (What a dedicated blogger right?)

We will start with the Vancouver/Chicago game. Tonight was game 7 played in Vancouver. It was a well played game to say the least. Alex Burrows scored his 2nd goal of the playoffs with 2:43 left in the 1st period. Kessler and Raymond had helpers on the play. After a scoreless 2nd period, Toews scored his first goal of the playoffs, and not only that but it was a shorthanded goal. This goal would force an overtime. Alex Burrows scored his 2nd goal of the night (3rd of the playoffs) to capture the win for the Vancouver Canucks. The big difference maker I thought in this game was how physical Vancouver was. They were hands down the more physical team in this game. They had at least 30 more hits then the Blackhawks did. Roberto Luongo had a great game in my opinion. To come back in a game 7 situation after being pulled and to get a W was huge. In conclusion Chicago made a great comeback, but just fell short to the more experienced Vancouver Canucks. To see what I had to say to preview this game, check out my previous blog post here: http://allaboutsports-atown2028.blogspot.com/2011/04/game-7-vancouver-canucks-vs-chicago.html

Moving on....

We have the Sabres Vs. Flyers

In another game 7, we have the Philadelphia Flyers defeating the Buffalo Sabres 5 to 2. First off I have to say I'm surprised Buffalo was able to push the series to 7 games, that alone was pretty remarkable. To break down the scoring real quick: 1st Period: Brandon Coburn scored at the end of the 1st for his first goal of the playoffs, Briere had the assist.  2nd Period: Danny Briere and James Van Riemsdyk both scored on the power play.  3rd Period:  We have Ville Leino scoring at the beginning for Philly followed by a goal from Buffalo's Tyler Myers. Carcillo answers back for Philly, while Brad Boyes puts in a meaningless powerplay goal for Buffalo.  This game was a little closer then what the score indicates. The teams were very even, with the only difference coming in the shots catagory. The flyers just put more shots on net, and in the end if you can't hit the net you can't score. That and the unclutch goaltending  from Miller who ultimately was pulled.  The flyers will move on to either play Boston, Tampa Bay, or Pittsburgh.

Finally we have Montreal vs. Boston

In this crucial game 6 for Montreal, they prove victorious...defeating the Boston Bruins 2 to 1. The Canadians stepped up when it counted most. I'd say while Boston didnt play great...actually what I mean is by Boston giving Montreal game 6, they now have to play a game 7.  Montreal scored twice on the powerplay and that proved to be the difference in this game. Boston gave the Canadians 7 powerplay opportunities. I'm sorry but even a basketball player can tell you that giving a professional 7 advantages in a game...isn't going to help you. Mike Cammalleri and Brian Gionta had Montreal's two powerplay goals in the 1st and 2nd periods. Dennis Seidenburg (WHO?) had Boston's only tally in the 2nd.  Stay tuned for a post previewing game 7!!

Alright...so that was a quick rundown for tonights action in the NHL. Let me know what you think. I'm hoping that by me taking a little extra effort and putting all of the sports recaps here this will be your one stop destination to get your scores and recaps from the previous nights action. Good idea? If so, I will start to do this with all sports...so please let me know :)

Also I have started to put my blog/posts on various media outlets/blogging communities. So if you like what you are getting so far go ahead and "Digg" it and tell your friends!

Really Really Really Good Song.

Hey guys, alright so something new, that I will probably start doing from time to time. I will put up quick little entries like this regarding things I find really cool, amazing, etc. I hope this will make my blog a little more exciting, and maybe give you a reason to revisit my blog!

Alright I hope everyone enjoys this song/video! It is some pretty cool stuff!!

Tim

PS- I dont own any part of the video/song :)

Latest on the NFL Lockout

Hey guys! So some exciting news (kinda) to start off with...I surpassed 25 views! haha I don't know how many views is good in the first 12 hours...but I am happy with my 26 views. So if you like what you are reading so far, please come back...and tell your friends. :) So thank you to all of you who have at least dedicated 5 seconds of your day to my blog :)

Anyways....

Probably more exciting news...The NFL lockout has been lifted....for the time being at least. The NFL owners are getting ready for the appeal process. To catch you up in case you missed anything...a federal judge in Minneapolis, MN lifted the NFL lockout. Now this sounded a lot better then what it actually means. Seeing as the NFL owners are appealing, the players are pretty much allowed into the building and thats it. They aren't allowed to use any of the facilities, which is a joke in my opinion.

Today a few players from each team showed up to their respective facility, but they all got the same answer. They were told you are welcome to be in the building but you are unable to use the weightroom, and any other training facility on site. What is really sad is this all comes down to money. Sure it's a lot of money, 9 billion to be exact, but come on...we all know the players and the owners don't need any extra money. Split the 9 billion down the middle and call it even. If neither side gives in, the possibility of no NFL season is huge. The NHL went through this same process a few years ago. It's not pretty.

I want football this season. I hope the majority of America agrees with this statement. If neither side agrees, they are only hurting themselves in the long run. I mean not all professional athletes make 7 figures. Look at Mike Leake of the Cincinatti Reds. He was arrested for stealing $59 worth of T-shirts...now I'm no professional athlete, but I'm pretty sure you make more then $59...just a guess though.

This post was just a quick generalization of what the players are facing now that the lockout has been lifted. Will there be football this year? I don't know but let me know what you think! For a great article, as well as a great quote by an NFL player check out http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6429889

AND...if you want to laugh a little more at Mike Leake you can check out his story here: http://bossip.com/371057/you-cant-be-fcking-serious-guess-which-millionaire-baseball-player-was-arrested-for-stealing-shirts-43081/

Until next time guys...which will probably be soon haha

When is the Tiger going to come out of his den?

Alright guys, I am posting this as an upset blogger. It was just confirmed that Tiger Woods will be out for "a few weeks" due to a left knee injury. His agent Mark Steinberg says that this is just a precautionary measure and his injury isnt severe. According to Woods, the "injury" is soreness in his left knee and achilles tendon. Apparently the injury occured sometime during the 3rd round of the Masters.

Tiger has had multiple surgeries on his left knee. The most famous one was back at the 2008 US Open. Here was when us viewers had to determine whether Tiger Woods was a man, or a God? He hopped around Torrey Pines on his right leg and beat up Rocco Mediate. It was one of the greatest performances I have ever witnessed.

To this day, Tiger is still 4 majors behind Jack Nicklaus and his 18 major victories. Will Tiger's health be the main factor determining whether or not he reaches that mark? I don't know, personally I believe he will surpass the 18 major mark. Tiger Woods is still the best golfer in the world, regardless of what has transpired over the past 18 months. You can love or hate Tiger, but you can't deny that fact. I have gotten to the point though, where these injuries are getting annoying. I personally want to see him play. Without taking time off for his knee, he barely plays anymore. Between the 4 majors, the WGC events, he plays maybe 10 other times around the world....A YEAR.

He has his reasons not to play, I can't argue with that, I just want to see him play, and return to his previous greatness. Who knows, we may never see the "Old" Tiger again, but today we don't even see Tiger at all.

It's time to come out of your den Tiger, I am calling you out....Come out and play, otherwise (I'm afraid to say it) you might just be the next John Daly :P

Game 7 Vancouver Canucks Vs. Chicago Blackhawks

Hey guys, just thought I would put up a quick post about the Vancouver/Chicago game tomorrow.  I provided a link that talks about Luongo getting the go ahead to be the starter in net for game 7.  He has been playing below par the last couple of games, so hopefully by him knowing that his coach and team are behind him that might get him back to form.  Espn.com has a lot of great info about the NHL playoffs so if you are interested feel free to browse around the NHL section on their website.   http://espn.go.com/nhl/

Just a few things to preview this game 7.  Bryan Bickell had surgery today to repair a tendon in his wrist, therefore he will miss game 7.  Many of you might not think that is a big loss, but his play in the playoffs has helped the blackhawks win 3 straight.  He has 2 goals and 2 assists in the series, while being injured in game 2 and missing game 3.

The defending stanley cup champions found themselves 3 games down in a 7 game series.  They have since won 3 straight...2 of those pretty easily.  They clearly have momentum going into game 7.  Although in my opinion...I think they will fall short in their bid to repeat as champs.  I'm just going to say that most of the Canucks took a vacation after winning game 3.  Sure the Hawks have come out and played well, but it's no secret Vancouver started to think about the next round.  Which is why I believe they have woken up and are ready for game 7.  Remember....the Canucks won the Presidents trophy, and while Luongo may be slumping....he is a finalist for the Vezina trophy.

Ultimately, this isnt the same Chicago Blackhawks.  They are inexperienced when it comes to game sevens, with only 4 players on their roster ever playing in a game 7.  Toews has yet to score a goal in the series, and they have to play in Vancouver.  Sure they have a chance....but if we are being honest...I give this series to the Vancouver Canucks.

Agree...Disagree?  Thoughts?  Don't care?  Tell me what you think!

Below is the link for the video talking about Roberto Luongo.  Check it out!!

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/2011/news/story?id=6427135

Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals!

Let me start this post off by saying this.....Alex Ovechkin is the best hockey player in the NHL.  Yes you could say I have a slight man crush on the Russian Machine, but it's for good reason....trust me!  With most of my posts I will try to remain unbiased, talk about current events, etc....but seeing as I am just starting out, and to help you get to know me a little better I figured there is nothing wrong with being a little biased.  For anyone reading this....if anyone will ever read this I understand that you disagree with my view on Alex Ovechkin...I am totally fine with that.  With that being said, I would like to know why?  Who do you think is better then Ovechkin playing today?  I would love to hear your response, maybe even start a little debate. :)

Anyway, on to the unbiased part of the blog.  The Washington Capitals over the weekend closed out their series agains the New York Rangers in 5 games.  I give credit to the Rangers, they played the Caps tough.  The games werent blow outs by any means, but the Caps won because of their defense.  The Capitals are more confident this year then in previous years during 1 or 2 goal games.  They know they dont have to score 4+ goals a game to win anymore.  It also helps when Mike Green on defense has a point in every game during your first series.  Obviously, the Capitals would like to improve as they move into the next round of the playoffs.  They will either be up agains the #4 Pittsburgh Penguins or the #5 Tampa Bay Lightning.  The big question for the Penguins is when/if this year will Sidney Crosby come back from his concussion?  I am unable to answer that question for you, but I can tell you this...If he doesn't pass his medical tests by 110% you won't see Crosby lace up the skates anymore this year.  Personally, I think Washington would like to play the Tampa Bay.  They are just a better matchup and Pittsburgh has proved that they can still play even without Sid the Kid.  BTW- Tampa Bay is leading 2 to 1 right now halfway through the 2nd period over the Penguins.  Anyways, this will wrap up my 1st official post!  SO PLEASE....let me know what you want to read about.  Do you want more stats...more of my opinion...facts...etc.  Ultimately this blog is nothing without you guys, so I would be forever grateful if I could get a little feedback :)

Until Next Time.....Tim

Welcome!

Hey everyone!  This is my first post ever, as well as my first blog ever!  I am completely new to this so if anyone has any comments or suggestions please feel free to let me know.  Ideally the direction I would like this blog to go in would be talking about the sports world.  There is so much going on with sports each and everyday, and something I really enjoy and would like to talk about it.  I hope to blog at least once a day, so if sports is something you are interested in I really hope you enjoy my posts as much as I do writing them! :)

Stay tuned for a blog about Alex Ovechkin  AKA- Eight the Gr8 :)
